The Cambie Square Communal Garden is a communally-run demonstration garden, located on the southwest
corner of Cambie and 10th Avenue (see map below). There are no individual plots. Rather, all volunteers share in the planning, planting, harvesting and maintenance of the garden. Our volunteers come from many backgrounds; some are experienced gardeners and some are new to gardening. We all share a keen interest in growing food, maintaining biodiversity and creating sustainable systems.
Some techniques employed in the garden include vertical gardening, companion planting, square foot gardening and mulching. We also incorporate flowering plants to encourage and increase the pollinator population in the garden. We have partnered with the City Hall Childcare Society in the past, engaging children in garden care.

Anyone interested in this style of gardening are most welcome to join us. You do not need to be an experienced gardener to help out. For the summer, we meet Sunday evenings at 6pm. Please contact the email below if you are dropping by.
